“Smart” light bulbs for students living in dormitories!

In November, when Timișoara celebrates its European primacy through street lighting with electric light, which had come, in 1884, to replace lighting with gas lamps, the students from the Politehnica University dormitories were invited to reflect on the present (and future) of electric lighting through offering economical bulbs with light and motion sensors, as part of the campaign “Change a bulb! Choose an economical one”.

The students who came to the hall of the Dormitory 21 on Thursday, November 2 could learn the difference between the existing products on the market and could replace the traditional light bulbs with “smart” ones. The use of LED bulbs reduces electricity consumption and helps protect the environment, having a considerably longer life and reliability than “old” incandescent bulbs.

For passenger spaces, however, LED light bulbs with motion and light sensors are an even more interesting option, helping to automate living spaces. The major advantages of the offered sensor bulbs, in addition to saving electricity, are easy installation and automatic operation.
