Sustainability on student campuses, discussed in Timisoara

The University Students Engaging in Responsible and Sustainable Energy Consumption (USE-REC) project results are inspirational for universities, public utility providers, local authorities and the economic environment collaborating to ensure modern, sustainable student campuses, meeting the current and future needs of the young generation. This motivated the project team to launch the initiative of t a conference entitled Timisoara Universities: Education and Action for Sustainability, to be organized under the aegis of the Timișoara University Alliance on April 12, from 10 o’clock, at the UPT Senate Hall.

The event facilitates the presentation of projects or projections regarding the incorporation of sustainable development principles for student residential areas or for the general urban space but influencing student campuses. Also, the debates between representatives of institutions significant for the proposed topic can lead to the synergy between initiatives and to convergent initiatives for the implementation in Timisoara of the Sustainable Development Goals included in the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

The organizing committee, consisting of prof. univ. dr. Vasile Gherheș, prof. univ. dr. Gabriel-Mugurel Dragomir, assoc. prof. dr. Mariana Cernicova-Bucă, assoc. prof. dr. Adina Palea and prof. dr. Ionel Samfira prepare the agenda of the event, which promises to be an exceptional one.
