USE-REC experience shared at a major educational conference in Valencia (Spain)

The team engaged in the USE-REC project shared its experiences in engaging students as co-creators of an environment-friendly campus in Timisoara at one of the most significant educational conferences in Europen, the 18th annual International Technology, Education and Development Conference (INTED 2024) held in Valencia (Spain) on the 4th– 6th March 2024.

The conference gathers lecturers, researchers, technologists, and educational professionals around the latest cutting-edge research in the world of education. Mariana Cernicova-Buca, Vasile Gherheș, Adina Palea, Gabriel-Mugurel Dragomir presente don the first day of the conference their paper entitled “Students as co-creators of an environment-friendly campus in Timisoara”.

The findings shared with the audience are useful for tailoring campaigns that support the university’s intended efforts to green the campus and educate students outside of the classroom how to prepare for adulthood and autonomous life as sustainable citizens. The collaborative approach adopted in the project and in the paper is a model of good practice in involving a major stakeholder, the student body, in the transformational process leading to a sustainable campus.

The presented papers are to be published in INTED2024 Proceedings, ISBN: 978-84-09-59215-9, ISSN: 2340-1079, doi: 10.21125/inted.2024, in an electronic format. The organizers will submit the publication for evaluation and inclusion in Web of Science (Conference Proceedings Citation Index).
