SC RETIM Ecologic Service SA joins efforts undertaken by the project University Students Engaging in Responsible and Sustainable Energy Consumption (USE-REC) 2022/346695 to transform the Politehnica student campus into an oasis of sustainability in the city. The partnership signed for the implementation of the project will result in the provision of 12,000 yellow garbage bags to help manage the recyclable waste produced on campus (paper, plastic, aluminum).
The project team met with the representatives of Politehnica leadership: Professor dr. eng. Alina Dumitrel, vice-rector for student affairs, Sorin Homeag, deputy administrative director, Maria Palfalvi, head of Social Services and Paul Stiegelbauer, student representative in the Politehnica Board of Directors. Currently each student „produces” around 0.21 mc garbage monthly. Improving the selective waste collection results in joining forces to help Timișoara reach its objective to become a „green city”.
The success of the action can save resources, help the planet, and avoid the red label used by RETIM to mark the bins that are not collected, because of improper waste management. The red label is equivalent to failing the sustainability test!
